What is a HUSP Assessment?
HETAS has recently launched the HETAS Unsafe Situations Procedure (HUSP) to identifying installations that may pose a significant risk to the safety of a property in terms of fire safety. This new procedure aims to categorise risks into three levels - Assessed Risk Low, Assessed Risk High, and Immediately Dangerous.

The assessment process covers key areas of Building Regulations J1 to J5, including ventilation, product dispersion, CO activation, and building protection, along with considerations from BSI installation standards BS8303 and BS EN 15287-1. Evaluating the property's characteristics, such as energy efficiency changes like improved insulation, cavity walls, and draught excluders, is crucial. Visual inspections, and testing are necessary to determine the appropriate course of action.
Our assessment form serves as a reference for identifying compliance with Building Regulations and outlines re-commissioning checks to be conducted, along with a signed declaration of results.
Further information and support documentation on HUSP can be found on the HETAS website.
